Sometimes life can seem hard and unfair. It can seem as if nothing goes right no matter what you do. It may even feel as if every time you advance a little, something unexpected happens to deflate you and send you tumbling down. You are not alone. It’s a repeated lesson for many. The reason the lesson is stuck on repeat is your perception and your thoughts are also stuck on repeat. You expect things to keep crumbling, failing, falling apart. Therefore, your experiences are a result of what you are expecting and believing.
You may say, no I don’t expect it, I get excited thinking I’m about to succeed at this or that but I still don’t succeed. So, I challenge you, replay some of the things you have said throughout your life. Were there times when you have made any of the following comments?
I can’t seem to get ahead, I’m getting hit from all sides,
I just keep having bad luck; if I didn’t have bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all.
Nothing ever goes right for me, even when I try to be positive,
Everything works out for other people but nothing works out for me,
It’s always something standing in the way of my happiness
Maybe not word for word, but you may recall speaking something similar to these comments over yourself. When you do that, you are calling into your life all the negativity that you are stating. This can be a bad habit for many and this bad habit of thinking and speaking failure is keeping you from propelling forward.
We all face obstacles during our journey. There are two ways you can choose to handle your obstacles. You can either see each as a stumbling block and allow it to knock you down into that wallowing pity hole. OR you can see each as a teaching tool. Analyze the situation, find possible solutions and choose the best one for you. Obstacles are there to make you use your brain.
Imagine going to visit a friend you hadn’t seen for a while. You’re excited to start on the trip but you didn’t know there was highway construction until you came to the detour signs. The detour led you in a different direction but it eventually got you back on track and you reached your destination. It may have taken a little longer, but the detour allowed you to explore and learn a new route.
An obstacle is the same as that detour. Sometimes the detour/obstacle may even allow you to run across something that helps you move forward in life or maybe meet a person you were destined to meet.
Obstacles don’t have to knock you down. It can present itself merely to reveal things within you that you never knew you were capable of. The next time you are presented with an obstacle, accept the challenge, search your brain for all the possible resolutions to the situation, pick one and move forward. If the first choice doesn’t work, take a different route. Whatever you do, don’t give up and go back home because your destiny is eagerly awaiting your arrival. When you get there, you will be elated and your life will be better than you could have imagined.
Challenge yourself, Encourage yourself, and Push yourself
by speaking and believing for what you want to experience.
