WHO ARE YOU?

Do you know who you are? I mean really and truly know who you are? Not just your name, your background or your education. Who you truly are goes far beyond this stuff. Those are merely add-ons. You are a child of the Almighty God, the Great I-AM, the Most-High King, the Father and Creator of all. That makes you a Valuable Masterpiece, Irreplaceable, an incontestable Treasure. If anyone has ever told you different, they are sadly mistaken.

When we look at ourselves, we must see what God sees. He created you and His Creation is Perfect As-Is. Embrace the beauty in you. Yes, of course we all have imperfections in our personalities, some known and some unknown to others, but personalities are created by us, not by God, and those imperfections can be corrected by us as well. When you search your heart and begin to recognize your true self, you can rid yourself of those behaviors that are not a natural part of the person God Created. It’s as simple as spending time with oneself to learn your truths. It requires honesty. Some things may be difficult to admit at first, but if you want to know You, you must be completely honest in your self-evaluation, otherwise you won’t know the imperfections that require your immediate attention.

When we can honestly search ourselves and pull out the person we were created to be, life takes on a whole new meaning. That’s when one truly understands life is a gift that we are to enjoy and appreciate daily. Knowing and loving yourself are the greatest and most fulfilling aspects of this gift because it opens doors you will not experience until you master this. Once you have found your true self, your outlook about everything changes and your journey is refreshing with every new day. Understand that life will always offer difficult times along your journey but the true you will go through those times gracefully and will not be as shaken up as the other you would have been. You will receive those times as new doors that will challenge you to grow in different areas of your life.

Know yourself, Love yourself, and see yourself as God sees you, His Perfect Gift. He has imparted greatness in each of us and we all have the ability to do so much with this gift He has given us. Dissolve any negative things you’re heard about you from others and especially those negatives things you’ve maybe told yourself. Embrace the truth about you through knowing that you are a magnificent child of God. Go ahead and add on all the things you want to accomplish in life, education, career, family, etc. but know that until you know and love yourself, these things are more like press-ons that tend to fade in the wash. However, when you love you, all the add-ons become butterflies in your garden that you enjoy even the more.
