Hebrews 11:1 faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen, or another way to say it is Faith is acting like something is before it is, in order that it will be because God told you so. Can you recall a time when you told your child something that they maybe didn't understand or didn't believe because it just didn't seem to be true then your child asks, but why? That can be frustrating right. You want your child to not question you as the parent but just believe that you wouldn't lead them wrong right? You want them to simply know that what you're telling them or teaching them is fact or that you know from life experiences what's best for them. Yet that child has a mind of their own and they want things to make sense to them. The principle behind faith is believing in our God who we cannot see to bring about results when we cannot understand how He's going to do it. It can be so far beyond our understanding that we question His promises and his power, But God wants us to believe in Him and know that His promises are absolutely real. His word encourages us not to try to understand or make human sense of anything but to trust that He can do far greater things that we are limited to. He is limitless. When we live in that belief, we can overcome anything that comes our way.
So don't ask how or why, just believe in your creator. It is such an awesome experience to truly take Him at His word. Let go of trying to analyze everything, some things are not for use to understand. Just move on His word.
