So often we will face things that may shake our faith a bit. Life can be difficult for a believer as well as a non-believer. We all face things that cause us to be afraid or uncertain, none of us are exempt from this truth. Having faith in God does not mean we as believers will not experience difficulties. Faith simply assures us that even during those times, God is with us and everything is working together for our good although it may not appear that way. Difficult times are as much a blessing as the many good times we experience.
The difficulty can encourage us to spend more intimate time with God, especially if we had not already been doing so. That intimate time nurtures our relationship with God which is always beneficial. Difficult times can also come to discipline us in some manner. If there is an area in our lives where we may be a little less disciplined than needed in order to fulfill our purpose, difficulties may serve as boot camp to condition us and make us stronger in that area.
Also, difficulties allow us to truly experience God’s faithfulness. When we remain firm in our faith during and through the difficulties, we are sure to see God work the result in our favor. At the end of it, our faith is stronger than before. Each victory is greater than the previous victory, thus growing our library of testimonies to enable us to encourage the next person facing the same or similar situations. Therefore, our faith does not have to be shaken when we encounter a tough time. If we remind ourselves of God’s sovereignty, we need not fret during trying times. He is fully aware of all circumstances surrounding our every concern. He will always work it all out in the manner that serves our life purpose and His plan. Choose to obey God and stand firm in faith. Stay the course and see the salvation of the Lord. Exodus 14:13; I Samuel 12:16.
