You have the power

In Luke 7:1-10, we are shown evidence of the power of faith in God. This is the story of an army officer who requested healing for his servant who was very ill. The officer sent leaders to go and get Jesus to come and heal his servant. He sent a message to Jesus to say “I don’t want anything for myself, I’m not even worthy of your presence in my home, but I acknowledge your authority and I’m asking for healing for my servant. I know if you give the word, he will be healed.” Although he was an officer with many people who obeyed him, he recognized that Jesus’ authority was above his earthly position as an officer. Therefore, he humbled himself. Immediately when Jesus received the messages from the officer, he healed the servant because of the magnitude of his faith.
This is how we should live, knowing that our faith in God is all the power we need to change any circumstance. God’s promises are activated and fulfilled when our faith in Him is exercised. Faith is simply believing that God’s promises are true and real, no matter what our circumstances look like. Sometimes things will indeed happen in life that may shake your faith a little. It’s human nature to act on what you see with your natural eye. However, those are the times when your faith must be awakened. The bigger the problem, the harder the situation indicates when you are to hold on to your faith tighter than ever. Every time you are faced with difficulty, it’s merely an opportunity to experience God and thus strengthening your faith for the next thing.
Think of it like this. When you were growing up, did you ever challenge or question the things your parents taught you or the things your teachers taught you? Most likely not. We believed in what they taught and still reflect on some of it at times as you get older. Your faith in God should be even stronger than that because unlike your parents and teachers, God’s word is definite and without the possibility of ever being incorrect or changeable.
If when you come up against a hard time in life, you keep reminding yourself God is the source of my supply (Ephesians 3:20, Philippians 4:19), God is my peace (Psalm 29:11; Psalm 85:8) I can and will get through this and I will be stronger and better after it is over because I have God’s grace (2 Corinthians 12:9, Philippians 4:13), you will reach the other side of your situation and look back in triumph. It won’t be easy, but every victory is worth the struggle. There are abundant blessings on the other side of whatever you are faced with. So, when you are praying during a situation, believe God is rearranging things and working it all out. No matter how it seems, just keep believing until you see the results of your faith. Don’t give up, keep trusting, keep facing every day with faith knowing that the reason for it is just on the other side of it and you will experience God’s Glory soon.
Prayer:
Father Help me. I need you. I don’t understand this but I know you are an all-knowing God and you are fully aware of what I am experiencing right now. I believe your word that tells me your grace is enough to sustain me as I go, thank You God for your grace. Help me to learn what I am to learn in this situation so that I may grow now. I trust your word to be true even when things around me appear that I am defeated so help me during my moments of unbelief and please forgive me through those times. Thank you, Father, for the privilege of releasing my cares and concerns into your hands. Your will be done. In the mighty name of Jesus, Thank You and Amen.
