Luke 1:37

For with God nothing shall be impossible

Luke tells the story of the miraculous conceptions and births of John and Jesus. God blessed an elderly couple, Zechariah and Elizabeth, to conceive and give birth to John. However, when the angel Gabriel shared this news with Zechariah, Zechariah was hesitant to believe the promise of God would happen. Because of his hesitation, Zechariah was silenced until the birth of his son, John. When the angel of the Lord visited Mary the Virgin to deliver the message from God that she would become pregnant and give birth to Jesus, Mary did not doubt the message. She had questions as to how God would birth a baby through her but she did not doubt what the angel Gabriel told her.

Sometimes we hear God’s instruction and we doubt it because it does not appear to be possible. Other times we may believe the promise, but we question how God will do what He says he will do. When we doubt God’s promise, it does not change the validity of the promise. If we have questions about God’s promise, it does not alter God’s plan. The doubt and the questions are because we are saying, “I’m not qualified to do this, I’m not strong enough or smart enough to do this” etc. We are looking at all the reasons why “I” cannot achieve what has been spoken. We must rest assured that what God says will be. It will not be done by our abilities working through God. It will be done by God’s ability working through us. When we have received a message from God of a thing He wants to birth through us, we must believe His promise and know that nothing is impossible for God. His strength makes our impossibilities possible by removing the preceding “I’m” from the equation then our impossibilities become possibilities.

Prayer: Father God, help me to see the me that You see. I trust you and I know that your plan for me is perfect. Help me to remove all doubt and Lord, help my unbelief, Mark 9:24. Teach me to remove the limitations and boundaries I have placed upon myself. Allow your spirit to empower me to grow where you choose to plant me. I surrender self to You and to Your plans for me. Shape me, mold me and make me into the vessel for your promise to take flight. I am Yours. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
